Joinery Workshop

We have set up our joinery workshop so we can offer more sustainable options to our clients than we can find on the market.
Custom Joinery
We are making bespoke joinery for both commercial and residential projects, including furniture for kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms, and offices.
With so many exciting new sustainable materials being developed between designers and scientists, we love the challenge of using these in our projects. Sourcing responsibly, we search for the most eco-sustainable materials we can find to help minimise environmental impact and enhance the recyclability of materials, increasing energy and material efficiency.
We use recycled, upcycled and natural materials with low formaldehyde content, and low VOC’s to help reduce pollutants in the atmosphere.
Bespoke Carpentry
Commissioning craftsmanship
Some interiors demand something that’s a little different. If we can’t find what you’re looking for in production furniture or cabinetry, we can offer an in-house bespoke solution, or we’ll suggest commissioning an individual piece. We’ve worked with some hugely talented furniture makers and artists, and because we’ve never let them down, they’re happy to work for a Kite commission. We work with local makers as much as possible who share our values for quality and craft, and who lovingly put together bespoke pieces that will create a legacy for future generations.
Renewable
Using only renewable and sustainable materials in our projects.
We work to eradicate all hazardous toxins from the atmospheres we all inhabit.
Traceable.
Provenance of the Product.
We are working towards all our products, and furniture we use or manufacture being fully traceable so our clients can understand the complete story of what they are buying. What’s in the product, where it has come from, the conditions it was made under, how they arrived to the customer and how they will re-used.
We will be introducing an Interior Management System where we can register the individual customer’s furniture items so they can easily be surveyed and brought into play in a new way.
We can also then calculate the carbon footprint of all of our furniture.
Re-usable
The Circular Economy
We are focusing on design to develop truly circular furniture that will follow a circular process throughout their entire lifecycle– from raw materials, through the production process, to the products we use and finally re purposing and recycling.
Modular, mobile and flexible, this means the furniture can be updated with new parts, be re-used or integrated into new contexts. We place a strong focus on designing long-lasting quality products, that will both help the environment and will be beneficial to our customers and are looking for complete traceability with all the materials used.
In addition to this, we are developing a comprehensive servicing system to help to further extend the life of our products.
We are placing the same demands on our suppliers and are collaborating with local suppliers as much as possible to reduce our carbon footprint.
We are planning to offer a repair service, storage facilities and we also ensure the proper re-use, recycling and disposal of furniture.
Waste
We care about waste and use a very precise cutting list to ensure little wasteage of our materials.
