A Design and build company with the experience, talent and capability to offer a full turnkey solution, from concept design to project completion.
An eye for detail. And the human touch.
At Kite, the spaces we design and build reflect the people who live or work in them. With a passion for building beautiful things, meticulous craftsmanship and detail underpin everything we do, together with a keen appreciation of the human dimension. We ‘work with the grain’ of a space, taking into consideration the unique characteristics of the building and the individuals who call it home.
In Helen and Bruce Gordon, Kite Creative clients have the advantage of two experienced and talented designers and makers with complementary skills.
Helen’s background as a textile designer and retail buyer brings a deep understanding of colour and texture to the interiors we create. Along with her Architecturally Interior training from the globally-renowned Inchbald School of Design, Helen sees beneath the surface to create design that perfectly fits its spacial environment.
Bruce’s career as a designer maker, and his work on major Hollywood films, shows in the flawless craftsmanship, fit and finish of each project we design for. Along with his 3D spatial expertise at designing and planning spaces, and his practical experience in bringing major projects to completion within tight deadlines, he’s a reassuringly calm presence to direct our team on the construction and effectively oversee client projects both large and small.
Together, we unite vision and execution for spaces that are tailored to your needs and tastes.
Kite Creative converted two properties we bought. They did an excellent job and everything was timely and within budget. Both the interior and the build were finished to a high professional standard. We highly recommend their services and we hope to work with them again in the near future.James and Karina Murphy
A Kite interior is designed for living and has a warm, human dimension. We embrace the fascination of natural finishes and the imperfections that come with them. Japanese culture has a word for it; wabi-sabi, a world view centred on the acceptance of transience and imperfection. It’s the knot in the grain of a wooden surface, the patina of weathered steel or the tactility of a polished stone. We look for things that invite the eye to linger and the finger to caress…touches of individuality that humanise design.
Some interiors demand something that’s a little different. If we can’t find what you’re looking for in production furniture or cabinetry, we can offer an in-house bespoke solution or we’ll suggest commissioning an individual piece. We’ve worked with some hugely talented furniture makers and artists, and because we’ve never let them down they’re happy to work for a Kite commission.
